Facilities Engineer

DEPARTMENT:

REPORTS TO:Operations Manager

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Facilities Engineer is responsible to fulfill the mechanical needs of both the equipment and the physical structure. This position will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of all facility equipment and machinery. In addition, he/she will be responsible for some light carpentry, painting, basic plumbing, and other duties required in the maintenance of the building. The Facilities Engineer will have direct responsibility for performing some electrical work throughout the plant and contracting, scheduling, and overseeing the work of outside labor when necessary. This individual will make recommendations regarding purchasing supplies and equipment needed to run the Maintenance Department as well as for scheduling basic equipment maintenance. He/She must consistently and efficiently perform and follow procedures in compliance to company, customer, and ISO standards.

PRINCIPAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Diagnose problems and make repairs on equipment in order to minimize machine ‘downtime' and, if necessary, schedule outside labor; i.e. factory repair.
  • Schedule and perform preventive and predictive maintenance on equipment.
  • Install and/or assist with installation of factory equipment.
  • Operate all shop equipment including all power equipment.
  • Perform some sheet metal work.
  • Perform electrical, plumbing, and other duties required for efficient operation of the physical plant including some HVAC programming.
  • Complete daily maintenance and repair logs.
  • Maintain and secure work tools.
  • Clean and maintain all work areas.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Perform additional duties/projects as assigned by lead, management and/or Supervisor.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school education required; College degree with an emphasis on engineering preferred.
  • Licensed in electrical preferred; proficiency required.
  • Proficient in machine repair.
  • Proficient in use of welding equipment.
  • Knowledge of printing specific equipment
  • Skilled in plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, electrical, and piping skills.
  • Familiarity with OSHA standards regarding potential job hazards and protocols.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time and work in potentially uncomfortable positions.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Must be attentive to detail.
  • Must be able to comprehend and follow all job procedures and safety protocols.

Employees must fulfill the performance standards of this position and comply with policies, rules and procedures of Cultech, including those set out in the Employee Handbook or otherwise communicated (verbally or in writing) to employees. As necessary, employees are expected to manage waste and chemical products properly.

  • Compensation: $90,000 per year
