Despatch Assistant
Autajon Labels Royston: We are an award-winning label printing company, established in 1984 as Royston Labels Ltd, and joined the Autajon Group in 2023. As a growing business, we pride ourselves on developing high-end, top-quality labels for our well-known clients in the Cosmetics & Toiletries, Health & Nutrition, Drinks, and Pharma industries. We use our in-depth knowledge of traditional & digital print technologies, and combine this with innovative embellishments, as well as incorporating sustainability as a priority focus in our entire process. Based in Royston, near Cambridge, and with a team of 70 employees, we always aim to provide a quality service, and provide the skills, craftmanship & care required in every part of our manufacturing process to make beautiful, impactful labels.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
You will be joining the finishing team, reporting to the Finishing Supervisor, who oversees the department. You will be responsible for the entire Despatch function, while supporting Packing and Goods In.
As a Despatch Assistant, you will be able to:
As a Despatch Assistant, you will be able to:
- Despatch finished goods in an accurate, timely and efficient manner
- Organise and load courier vehicles
- Consolidate customer orders
- Book in deliveries with customers
- Arrange courier collections (This could be overnight, same day, or international)
- Organise returns with customers and couriers
- Raise paperwork and ID labels for finished goods (using CERM)
- Communicate shortages to your Supervisor or the Production Manager
- Ensure deliveries are packed and presented as required
- Control stock of finished goods
- Participate in the annual stock-take
- Control despatch of goods from stock
- Keep costing records for accounts
- Obtain POD from couriers on request
- Assist with day-to-day packing of parcels
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
- General housekeeping duties
- Working in a manner which promotes good Health & Safety practices
JOB REQUIREMENTS
The successful candidate will have:
- Despatch/Goods-out experience. (Essential)
- A current and valid counterbalance forklift certificate essential (Essential), with the desire to train on other trucks
- A positive, and self-motivated attitude to work
- Good organisational and administration skills
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Able to follow written and verbal instructions
- Excellent attention to detail
- The ability to work to tight deadlines and multi-task
- The ability to work diligently to achieve timelines
- A positive attitude and approach to the role and team at all times
- Able to work on own initiative and work as part of an effective team
- Flexibility and be adaptable to evolving business needs
