Autajon Boston: Located in the greater Nashua, NH area Autajon Packaging Boston is a full-service packaging provider offering traditional folding cartons and a variety of other innovative styles. Some of our well-known customers are Lindt, Hersey, Godiva, and Ferrero Rocher. We currently employ 100 regular full-time employees year-round and roughly 80 seasonal employees. The Nashua facility is located 30 minutes outside Boston, an hour from the ocean and one and half hours from the mountains making it a great place for the outdoors person to live or to raise a family.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Join our Maintenance Team! The Maintenance Mechanic will be an active member of our already dynamic and energetic team.  We are a small but very cohesive team that thrives on working both together and independently.  We work together to make sure that all members feel welcome and strongly valued.

This position is responsible for the assistance in installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of all facility equipment and machinery. In addition, this position may be responsible for some light carpentry, painting, basic plumbing, and other duties required in the maintenance of the building. He/She must consistently and efficiently perform and follow procedures in compliance to company, customer, and ISO standards.

This position is second shift, 2pm to 10pm Monday through Friday with over time as needed to meet production requirements. Training will be on first shift for the first 2 months of employment, 6am to 2pm Monday through Friday with over time as needed.

Job Duties

  • Change tooling and make ready to thermoform machines
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment in a timely manner to minimize any ‘downtime'
  • Install and/or assist with installation of facility equipment and machinery
  • Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on facility machinery
  • Operate all shop equipment including all power equipment
  • Complete daily maintenance and repair logs
  • Maintain and secure company owned tools
  • Clean and maintain all work areas
  • Contributes to team effort by effectively working with others and accomplishing given duties

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • High school education or GED required.
  • Ability to read, write and communicate in English in order to follow written and verbal job instruction
  • Must be attentive to detail.
  • Excellent manual dexterity
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time and work in potentially uncomfortable positions.
  • Must be able to comprehend and follow all job procedures and safety protocols
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in machine repair
  • Must have dependable transportation
  • Must have a valid driver's license


Preferred skills

  • Electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
  • Welding (mig, tig, arc & gas)
  • Metal mill & lathe
  • Plumbing & carpentry
