Cultech Inc. is located in South Plainfield, NJ just 30 minutes outside of Newark, NJ and just 45 minutes from Times Square, making it a great place to raise a family in the suburbs while having the hustle and bustle of city life close by. Cultech is known for being one of the best custom luxury packaging companies currently engaged exclusively in fine fragrance and premium cosmetics. Cultech is also recognized for its high quality and as a leader in the creation of Mylar-laminated cartons. We provide enhanced graphics, custom formulated inks, hot stamping, embossing and silk screening techniques to create distinctive packages with high visual appeal for the top brands around the world. We currently employ about 125 employees between two shifts, most of which work four day work weeks.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Optimizes the day-to-day use of Cultech production resources (labor, machines) to achieve performance objectives (quality, logistics, cost).
  • Manages daily production meetings so as to arbitrate scheduling priorities, consistent with customer expectations; actively interacts with Customer Service Representatives to plan ahead, deliver on time and inform them of production delays as early as possible.
  • Creates the environment for and drive continuous improvement so as to increase quality, productivity and control of impact on the environment; in sync with the Quality Manager, ensures all quality and environmental events are analyzed so as to develop robust corrective and preventive actions.
  • Develops and enforces policies to provide a safe working environment.
  • Develops and enforces efficient maintenance programs for Cultech machines and building.
  • Along with other Departments, develops, upgrades, implements and enforces ISO processes that will support quality, productivity and the control of the impact on the environment.
  • Ensures that customer and regulatory requirements are enforced throughout Operations.
  • Maintains and develops adequate pool of skills in the Production departments with a view to keep Cultech efficient and competitive.
  • Ensures healthy and efficient relationship between the Production and other departments (Pre-Production, Quality, Warehouse, Sales, Human Resources and Finance).
  • Maintains dashboards to monitor manufacturing activity, as need be.

Management:

  • Organizes work and allocates employees in order to achieve efficiently the department missions; keeps track of employee hours, unscheduled absence, and schedule of vacations…
  • Monitors and evaluates the activities of the department employees and provides management coaching, motivation, guidance, and on the job training as necessary to ensure operational efficiency and adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Contributes to performance evaluations for all department personnel, in accordance with procedures.
  • Effectively screens, interviews and short lists individuals for open positions within the department.
  • Evaluates existing systems and processes, and in sync with Senior Leadership Team initiates changes and improvements, and makes suggestions to upper management, including for investments.
  • Supports management decisions and communicates the philosophy behind decisions to staff. Consistently demonstrates a positive attitude.
  • Management of the allocated budget for maintenance.
  • Member of the SLT (Senior Leadership Team).

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Engineering or Scientific degree.
  • 5-years of folding carton industry experience.
  • 10 years management experience.
  • Must display an attitude that is key to success.
  • High level of proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook), ERPs and basic computer programs.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills along with the ability to prioritize work.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
