PRINTING FEEDER OPERATOR - 2ND SHIFT

Autajon Boston: Located in the greater Nashua, NH area Autajon Packaging Boston is a full-service packaging provider offering traditional folding cartons and a variety of other innovative styles. Some of our well-known customers are Lindt, Hersey, Godiva, and Ferrero Rocher. We currently employ 100 regular full-time employees year-round and roughly 80 seasonal employees. The Nashua facility is located 30 minutes outside Boston, an hour from the ocean and one and half hours from the mountains making it a great place for the outdoors person to live or to raise a family.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
POSITION SUMMARY:
This role is responsible for assisting the Press Operator with make-ready, operating, and maintaining the sheet-fed printing press. The Feeder prepares all materials for the press run and ensures paper is loaded and running properly throughout each job run. He /She must consistently and efficiently perform and follow procedures in compliance to company, customer, and ISO standards.
RINCIPAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Retrieve printing plates from platemaking department to the press for installation.
Assist with install of printing plates, packing sheets, packing blankets and inks.
Ensure paper is loaded in to feeders for running jobs, as well as maintain paper supply throughout the job run.
Provide basic assistance to Press Operator as needed to prepare press make-ready.
Adjust press machine parts of the feeder and delivery system.
Perform routine operational maintenance and minor repairs to equipment.
Remove and recycle old/discarded plates.
Read job bag to ensure they have the proper materials staged for each machine.
Produce high quality work meeting established production standards.
Chemicals used must be properly labeled at all times.
Cross-train to gain ability to feed other presses as needed.
Keep area clean and organized. Empty trash bins, sweep around the machine, pick up empty pallets around printing department and take them to the proper location.
Performs other job duties as assigned by management or lead person.
Consistently attentive to quality throughout manufacturing process.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team with a high level of initiative and flexibility.
Capable of understanding technical customer requirements.
Ability to work in a high stress environment to meet customer delivery dates.
Constantly produces high quality work and maintain established production standards.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
High school education or GED required.
Knowledge of and experience in operating a hand jack.
Basic mechanical aptitude/skills.
Proficient level of English Verbal & Written.
Ability to read and understand a Job Bag.
Must have basic math skills.
Must have basic computer skills.
Must be available as necessary to work overtime.
Excellent manual dexterity.
Demonstrate initiative in problem solving.
Must be attentive to detail and have excellent organizational skills.
Must be able to stand for long periods of time and perform repetitive manual tasks with frequent rotations.
Must be able to comprehend and follow all job procedures and safety protocols.
